<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay server that notifies a user when a specific application becomes unavailable in a case where a virtual address is used for communication. <P>SOLUTION: A relay server stores a first routing target address and a second routing target address. The relay server stores the second routing target address and a virtual address, associating them with each other. The relay server exchanges address filter information with another relay server to establish a routing session. The relay server receives from a user an instruction on permission or prohibition of communication using a virtual address. If the relay server has received an instruction to prohibit communication using a virtual address and determines there is overlap of routing target addresses, the relay server notifies the user that the communication is unavailable.
