According to the embodiment, a solar cell comprises: a semiconductor substrate; a conductive region formed on the semiconductor substrate; an insulation film positioned on the conductive region; and electrodes connected to the conductive region by placing the insulation film between the electrodes. The insulation film has a thinner thickness in a second region including a contact unit in which the electrodes are disposed than in a first region where the electrodes are not disposed.
