The present invention relates to a secondary barrier installation structure and a method thereof and, more particularly, to a secondary barrier installation structure and a method thereof, capable of making it easy for an insertion insulator to be installed in the gap of a secondary insulating panel, minimizing the welding line for integration of the secondary barrier installed on the secondary insulating panel, and securing economic feasibility by reducing time and effort required for the installation of the secondary barrier. The present invention provides the secondary barrier installation structure comprising: multiple secondary insulating panels installed on the inner side of a hull; the insertion insulator installed in the gap between the secondary insulating panels; multiple secondary barriers which are installed on the second insulating panel of which a corrugation unit located on the insertion insulator and a flat unit installed on the secondary insulating panel on both sides of the insertion insulator are formed to be integrated; and a strip which is installed on the secondary insulating panel to be located on the boundary between the secondary barriers and the method thereof. The flat unit is welded to a flat unit of a different barrier. Thus, several flat units are connected.
