Disclosed are a method for counting people and an apparatus therefor. According to the present invention, a head candidate of a circular contour is detected only at a time when a foreground contour in an image frame passes through a reference line, and the head candidate who passes through a detective area is counted, thereby counting people based on the head detection which is more precise and has less error occurrence. |
