The present invention provides a washing machine having improved washing efficiency and quality by improving the rotation structure of a door assembly having an auxiliary washing unit made up by a door and an auxiliary washing space. In addition to this, the door and the auxiliary washing unit are joined together by a locking part to enable users to conveniently open and close the door assembly when no auxiliary washing is needed. The washing machine enables users to unlock the locking part when auxiliary washing is needed to allow the separate movement of the door and the auxiliary washing unit.
