<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment apparatus for powder particles capable of efficiently obtaining toner particles having uniform shapes and not including coarse particles even when the processing throughput of powder particles is increased. <P>SOLUTION: A heat treatment apparatus for powder particles containing a binder resin and a coloring agent comprises: a treatment chamber 1 with a cylindrical shape for performing heat treatment on the powder particles; hot air supply means 3 for performing heat treatment on the powder particles; powder particle supply means 2 for supplying the powder particles to the treatment chamber; cold air supply means 4 for cooling the powder particles which have been heat treated; and recovery means 6 for recovering the powder particles which have been heat treated. The hot air supply means is arranged in such a manner that hot air swirls inside the apparatus. A plurality of the powder particle supply means are provided on an outer periphery of the apparatus at downstream positions from an outlet of the hot air supply means and are provided with an adjustment mechanism with which an injection direction of the powder particles injected from the outlet of the powder particles supply means can be adjusted to any direction.
