<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus comprising an accommodation detector used for measuring the permeability of developer accommodated in a container and containing toner and magnetic carrier, thereby detecting an event that the amount of the developer accommodated in the container exceeds a set amount, the apparatus capable of performing firm detection even if there is a possibility of the content ratio of the toner in the container exceeding that of the magnetic carrier therein resulting from toner discharge operation in forming toner images to be not transferred to a recording object medium to a photoreceptor after and including a step a little before a step where the accommodated developer is predicted to reach a detectable zone of the accommodation detector. <P>SOLUTION: Control means for executing a toner discharge operation performs the control of causing a feed-out mechanism to: stop a feed-out operation on the basis of information predicted that an accommodation detector will be disabled due to execution of the toner discharge operation after and at least including a step before a step where the developer accommodated in a container is predicted to reach a detectable zone of the accommodation detector; and restart the feed-out operation after a given require period arrives. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
