<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of effectively manufacturing a composite molding body as a final molding having excellent strength and rigidity by easily attaining sufficiently high joint strength between a previously-molded preliminary molding body and a later-supplied molten resin, and to provide the composite molding body manufactured by the method. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the composite molding body, the composite molding body is manufactured by previously molding the preliminary molding body using a first fiber reinforced resin containing a reinforcing fiber having≥1 mm weight average fiber length, arranging the preliminary molding body in a mold and injecting a molten second fiber reinforced resin into the mold to join the injected second fiber reinforced resin to the preliminary molding body. As the thermoplastic resin used for the composite molding body, a resin of the formulation different from each other in at least a resin A and a resin B is used. At least a surface layer part of the preliminary molding body is formed using the resin B, the resin A is used as the injected second fiber reinforced resin. The resin B is molten by heat given by the resin A and the second fiber reinforced resin is joined to the preliminary molding body through the melting.
