<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metal foam by which an inexpensive metal foam excellent in the stability of the quality can be produced. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided the method for producing a metal foam having air bubbles 15 formed by foaming in a base material 14 composed of metal or alloy. The method includes the steps of: supplying a foaming agent to belt-like sheet materials 13 (11, 12) composed of the metal or the alloy, then performing friction-stir using a plurality of friction-stir tools 5 juxtaposed in the width direction of the sheet materials 13 (11, 12); then forming the air bubbles 15 by foaming the foaming agent by heating; and cooling the base material 14 having the air bubbles 15 formed therein. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
