'[Class 39(iii)] Continuous metal strip or short lengths such as hack-saw blades 1 are conveyed, by rollers 2 driven from a common shaft 7, between heating coils 3, 3<SP>1</SP> arranged to provide a magnetic field normal to the surface of the strip. By this means it is stated that the edges of the strip only are heated due to the radio frequency currents employed and the resultant localized high eddy current density on the edges of the strip.</p> |
