<p>Embodiments of the present invention relate to a rescue requesting system using a portable electronic device, and a method thereof. A user in a danger of missing when getting lost because he/she is not accustomed to geographic information in a country or area where he/she stays can rapidly receive an aid by letting surrounding portable electronic device users know his/her current situation in detail by using a portable electronic device. The rescue requesting system according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a portable electronic device and a rescue status managing server. The portable electronic device for storing user identification information, includes a GPS device and an input unit for inputting rescue requesting information to generate rescue requesting information according to an input signal thereof, and transmits the generated rescue requesting information to an external server through a communications network, wherein GPS information secured through the GPS device and device identification information are included in the rescue requesting information. The rescue status managing server for storing the user identification information of the portable electronic device, detects the corresponding user identification information through the device identification information of the received rescue requesting information when the rescue requesting information is received from the portable electronic device, generates rescue notifying information based on the detected user identification information and the rescue requesting information, and transmits the generated rescue notifying information from the portable electronic device to an electronic device existing within a predetermined radius through a communications network based on GPS information of the portable electronic device.</p> |
