[Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVII] An electromagnetic relay (see Group XXXVII) has its contact springs extended to form plug-in terminals which engage in socket terminals mounted in a socket base. The relay has four rows of three contact springs 35 ... 37 at the left, and four rows of two contact springs 48 ... 51 at the right, Fig. 1, which are held in position in co-operating grooves 68 and projections 72 formed in the relay base 23. This base consists of an insulating member 22 and insulating bars 61 ... 65, Figs. 1 and 9, which are held together by spring clips 66. The extended ends of the contact springs engage in spring clips 96 in the socket base 88, Figs. 1 and 10; these spring clips, Fig. 14, have barbs 101 which hold them in position after their insertion into suitable apertures 95 in the socket base 88 which is constructed to take two relays. The relay base has a dowel pin 91 which engages in an aperture 90 in the socket base 88 to give accurate positioning. The socket bases are fixed by screws 108 to the cross-members 106 of a ladder-like supporting bracket 105.
