The encoder has a graduated disk (2.1) mounted on a shaft (2) in a torsionally fixed manner, and a scanning device (1.11) fixed in a place on a housing (1) to scan the disk. An outer surface (2.2) of the housing forms a rigid stop face in a radial direction in relation to a machine part. The housing includes a housing body (1.1) and a cover (1.2) connected to each other by a press-fit connection by a relative movement of the cover towards the body in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis. The housing has a mechanically flexible element i.e. flange (1.12), deformed by the connection. |
