PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-color thermal recording material which can develop four or more colors in different coloring color tones from each other depending on different heat application conditions from a thermal head.SOLUTION: A multi-color thermal recording material has a support and a thermal coloring layer which includes at least two layers of a first thermal coloring layer and a second thermal coloring layer. The thermal coloring layer is formed on the support to have the first thermal coloring layer on a side near the support and the second thermal coloring layer on the first thermal coloring layer. The multi-color thermal recording material contains a particle component containing a dye precursor, the dye precursor and a color developing compound in the first thermal coloring layer and second thermal coloring layer. The particle component containing the dye precursor in the first thermal coloring layer includes solid dispersed fine particles composed of a first dye precursor and composite fine particles composed of a second dye precursor which develops a color in a color tone different from that of the first dye precursor and a high-molecular compound. The particle component containing the dye precursor in the second thermal coloring layer includes composite fine particles composed of a third dye precursor which develop a color in a color tone different from those of the first and second dye precursors and a high-molecular compound. |
