<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mold powder for continuous casting of steel, which hardly sticks to a slab surface and suppresses formation of Fe<SB>2</SB>SiO<SB>4</SB>of liquid phase promoting oxidation of slab crystal grain boundary, and inhibits grain boundary oxidation causing slab surface crack, and is suitable for suppressing surface crack of such slabs as highly sensitive to surface crack including Ni contained steel, non Ni added medium carbon steel, high silicon steel and, furthermore, alloy addition steel or the like containing Nb, V and Mo, and also to provide a continuous casting method. <P>SOLUTION: The mold powder for continuous casting of steel is characterized in that surface tension at 1,300°C is≥400 dyn/cm and that SiO<SB>2</SB>content is 3-20 mass%. Also, the continuous casting method of steel is characterized in that continuous casting of molten steel is performed by adding, in the casting mold, the mold powder for continuous casting which has a surface tension at 1,300°C of≥400 dyn/cm and SiO<SB>2</SB>content of 3-20 mass%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
