PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting an occupancy state of a bed, capable of accurately notifying of an alarm according to a state of the bed.SOLUTION: The detection method comprises: a monitor area setup step of setting whether or not each of a plurality of monitor area candidates 6 preset at a peripheral end part of a bed 3 is defined as a monitor area; position-of-center-of-gravity computing step of computing a position of a center of gravity of a subject H on the bed 3; and notification determination step of determining whether or not notifying of an alarm on the basis of the monitor areas set by the monitor area setup step and the position of the center of gravity computed by the position-of-center-of-gravity computing step. In the monitor area setup step, in at least one of a case where a fall prevention member 5 is disposed at one end side of the peripheral end part of the bed 3 and a case where the bed 3 is installed, with one end side of the peripheral end part positioned along a wall in a room, a monitor area candidate 6 corresponding to the end part is not defined as the monitor area. |
