The present invention provides a liquid crystal alignment agent wherein the liquid crystal alignment agent has preservation stability for a long-term storage at low temperatures, and shows a decent coating property for a substrate, and corresponds to widening a narrow front. The liquid crystal alignment agent includes: at least one polymer (A) selected from a group comprising a polyamic acid, a polyimide and a polyamic acid ester which are obtained by making a tetracarbon acid dianhydride and a diamine react, and solvent. And the solvent comprises at least one specific solvent (B) selected from a group comprising a compound represented by the following formula (b-1A) or formula (b-1B). |
