A drinking vessel 10 preventing or inhibiting for example spilling liquid or condensing moisture from reaching the bottom 36 of the external surface of the vessel. A liquid receptacle 12 contains a beverage and has an upstanding wall 18 and a base 20. A support 14 is disposed below the base 20. A liquid collection device 42 is interposed between the liquid receptacle 12 and the support 14. It collects excess liquid present on the external surface of the liquid receptacle 12 and retains the excess liquid in a reservoir formed by a watertight seal between the liquid collection device and support portion, and a stem connecting the support and receptacle. |
