A mobile communications device with a wireless module and a controller module is provided. The wireless module performs wireless reception from a service network on a plurality of component carriers configured by the service network. The controller module selects a first component carrier from the plurality of component carriers providing the same multimedia broadcast and multicast services (MBMS) content and controls the wireless module to receive the MBMS content on the first component carrier.

1. A method for receiving multimedia broadcast and multicast services (MBMS) in a mobile communications device wirelessly connected to a service network, comprising:
detecting that a MBMS content is being transmitted on a plurality of component carriers from the service network, wherein the plurality of component carriers are configured by the service network; selecting a first component carrier from the plurality of component carriers providing the same MBMS content for a mobile communication device; and receiving the MBMS content on the first component carrier by the mobile communication device, wherein the MBMS content is still received by the mobile communication device on the first component carrier even when detecting that the first component carrier has been removed from the plurality of component carriers.
