The present invention relates to operating an apparatus based on request information. According to a variety of embodiments, disclosed are a method for controlling an apparatus based on request information, and an apparatus for supporting the method. The method comprises the steps of: forming a communications channel with an external apparatus; receiving request information to request activation of a sensor in association with executing a function of the external apparatus; and controlling a sensor to be activated in response to the request information. The present invention is not limited to the configuration described herein, and should be understood by means of various embodiments described in the detailed description of the present invention.
