<p>The present invention relates to an artificial anus sphincter device and a method for restoring anus by using the same. The artificial anus sphincter device using a bowel extension prosthesis according to the present invention comprises: a bowel extension member anastomosed with cut bowel and made of flexible biocompatible material; a balloon member formed in the outside of the bowel extension member, expanding by air injected therein, and tightening the bowel extension member to open and close the bowel extension member; and a catheter having one end connected with the balloon member, and the other end connected with an external air injecting device. Occurrence of tension in a bowel anastomosis part is prevented by using the bowel extension member which is a biocompatible prosthesis, so that bowel anastomosis can be stably performed. Also, the bowel extension member can serve as an artificial anus by means of the balloon member for opening and closing the bowel extension member by expanding by air injected therein and tightening the bowel extension member. After abdominoperineal resection and completed treatment, functions of the anus can be recovered and the intestinal fistula can be restored by means of the method for restoring anus by using the artificial anus sphincter device. A patient by himself/herself can adjust opening and closing of the artificial anus sphincter device, and the balloon member can be adjusted when the catheter is disposed in the outside of the patient′s body from his/her abdomen, so that the bowel needs not to be directly pressed and the bowel can be prevented from inflammation or ulcers. Moreover, the device is abdominally inserted, so a danger of infection can be reduced and hygiene can also be improved.</p> |
