The invention relates to the field of obtaining high quality diamonds and can be used for high quality cleaning of diamonds. Summary of the invention: the method includes a stage by stage treatment of the diamonds with a mixture of acids under the influence of microwave radiation. During the first stage, a mixture of nitric acid, hydrogen peroxide, and ozone is used in volume ratio of the components respectively 10:1:0.001. During the second stage, the volume ratio of the mixture of concentrated nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid is respectively 6:2:1, whereby the diamonds are treated at a temperature in the interval of 180-220°C, pressure of 25-30 at, set coefficient of filling of the autoclave from 1:8 to 1:11, power of the microwave oven 1000-2000 W and treatment time of each stage above 30 min. The invention ensures the thorough cleaning of natural diamonds from contaminants of organic and inorganic origin, including bituminous compounds in the cracks of the diamond surface, as well as a reduction of the duration of the cleaning process. |
