The purpose of the present invention is to provide a silent chain avoiding collisional contact of a guide plate, and sprocket teeth to prevent frictional loss and occurrence of noise. The guide plate (120) has a main guide unit (121) formed in an engaged side of a sprocket, and has an additional guide unit (122) formed on at least one side among a front end edge portion in a longitudinal direction of the chain or a rear end edge portion in the longitudinal direction of the chain. The additional guide unit (122) protrudes more in the longitudinal direction of the chain than an external flank unit (131) of a middle plate (130) disposed in the same guide row (110) with the additional guide unit. The silent chain (100) is formed to have a size overlapped by a sprocket teeth (S1) in a widthwise direction of the chain when the chain is engaged with a sprocket (S). |
