FLAKE GRAPHITE IRON,D METHODS OF PREPARING THE SAME AND COUNTER WEIGHT INCLUDING THE SAME

Flake graphite cast iron comprises, with respect to the total weight: 3.1-3.3 wt% of carbon (C); 1.0-1.5 wt% of silicon (Si); 0.5-3.0 wt% of manganese (Mn); 0.09-.013 wt% of sulfur (S); more than 0 to 0.05 wt% of phosphorous (P); 0.02-0.1 wt% of calcium (Ca); 0.02-0.1 wt% of barium (Ba); and the remainder consisting of iron (Fe). In addition, the weight ratio of calcium to barium (Ca/Ba) is 0.2-5. Flake graphite cast iron with excellent mechanical and chemical properties can be obtained by controlling the composition of calcium and barium.
