METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING INTER SUBCARRIER INTERFERENCE EFFECT IN ORTHOGONAL FREQUENCY MULTIPLEXING RADAR SYSTEMS

The present invention relates to a radar system and, more specifically, to a method and an apparatus for removing inter subcarrier interference (ICI) which occurs in extracting Doppler information (or speed information) of a target in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) radar system using a multiple carrier. According to the present invention, the method and the apparatus can estimate more accurate speed information of the target due to reduction of ICI by removing ICI, which occurs during signal processing. The method of the present invention includes: a sampling step of sampling by performing fast Fourier transform (FFT) as to an OFDM radar receiving signal; a correlation result generation step of generating mutual correlation results by performing mutual correlation processing of samples of the sampled OFDM radar receiving signal and sequence symbols of an OFDM radar transmission signal; a selection step of selecting one mutual correlation result whose peak value has the largest value by comparing the generated mutual correlation results; and a peak position estimating step of estimating a peak position of the OFDM radar receiving signal using the selected one mutual correlation result.
