The present invention relates to a device and a method for automatically monitoring filament transferring of an FDM 3D printer. The device comprises: a monitoring roller rotated according to transferring of a filament; an encoder wheel connected to the monitoring roller to be rotated; and an encoder sensor for generating a pulse signal by sensing rotation of the encoder wheel. A target transferring speed of a filament determined by a printing command or a filament transferring command is compared to a measurement speed detected through the encoder wheel and the encoder sensor. In a normal state, filament transferring and transferring monitoring operations are continued until a printing stopping command or a filament transferring stopping command occurs. In a state in which it is abnormal but determined that a printer can autonomously perform correction, autonomous correction is performed, and then transferring and transferring monitoring operations are performed. When it is determined that a printer cannot autonomously perform correction, a filament transferring operation is temporarily stopped, and an error state is informed to a user. After waiting until a problem is solved, and when the problem is solved, a printing operation or a filament transferring operation is continued. Accordingly, a conventional burden of estimating completion of a printed product through a remaining filament before a 3D printer starts to print can be relieved. |
