Disclosed is a power saving device of an LED lighting device. The power saving device includes a shielding means which applies limited current, based on conduction initiation voltage, on light emitting devices (LEDs) constituting lighting blocks by selectively operating a current controller for controlling the amount of current applied to the lighting blocks in a parallel, serial-parallel, or serial manner when the current controller is serially connected to the multiple light blocks. Accordingly, power consumption of the LED lighting device is reduced by increasing the brightness of the lighting blocks while peak current is reduced. Durability of the LED lighting device is increased by reducing the amount of heat generated when the LED lighting device is turned on. Especially, drawbacks of using AC power can be mitigated by widening a conduction angle of the lighting device to prevent light shaking or glare. Meanwhile, the generation of electromagnetic waves by harmonic waves of DC power is prevented; and the use of AC power can be recommended by considering economic efficiency. |
