The present invention relates to a method for producing a protruding alumina particle having tiny projections formed on the surface thereof, and a protruding alumina particle produced thereby, wherein an anchoring effect in improving adhesion and inhibiting slip can be exhibited. The method of the present invention comprises the steps of: applying a capping agent on the surface of an anisotropic alumina particle having a different aspect ratio; preparing a mixture by mixing the alumina particle having the capping agent applied thereon with alumina powder, wherein salts are also mixed therewith to prevent crystallization of the alumina powder when being smelted above a certain temperature; and heating the mixture in a furnace, so tiny projections can grow from the surface of the alumina particle.
