In the present invention disclosed are an object area extraction method and a device thereof. The object area extraction method includes the steps of: (a) executing a principal component analysis (PCA) on an image of a region of interest to derive a two-dimensional plane vector; (b) using the derived two-dimensional plane vector to derive the angle between x and y planes as a threshold value by using the derived two-dimensional plane vector; (c) removing a background area based on the threshold value to derive an object candidate area; and (d) using the average and standard deviation of the object candidate area to derive a weighted value application area, and applying a weighted value to the weighted value application area.
