Disclosed are an application providing device and a method for operating the same. According to the present invention, applications having been used in a previous terminal are installed in a newly opened terminal, which is newly activated, by only simple tagging for touching the newly opened terminal to a certain tag in order to synchronize an environment of the new terminal with an environment of the previous terminal. Therefore, efficiency of a terminal activation process and subscriber satisfaction can be increased.
