<p>Disclosed is a fastening means, comprising a beam and a locking member, the beam having a channel and locking extensions, the locking member having a base and an upstand, the locking member is inserted into the channel to assume a locking position by rotating, twisting or turning. The fastening means is formed such that when the locking member is in a tight friction or interference fit with the channel, the locking memeber cannot pull out of the channel at least in part due to obstruction by the locking extensions. The locking member holds a building item against the beam. Preferably the building item comprises a part of a walking surface. Preferably the building item comprises a board. Preferably the board forms part of a walking surface of a deck. Preferably the beam comprises a joist, bearer, batten or post. Preferably the locking extensions comprise flanges overhanging the channel.</p> |
