<p>AN APPARATUS AND EMBODIMENTS OF SUCH (COMMONLY TERMED THE APPARATUS) AND A PROCESS UTILIZING SAID APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUS CARBONIZATION OF WASTE MATERIALS. THE APPARATUS IS ARBITRARILY SUBDIVIDED INTO OR ASSIGNED A PLURALITY OF SUB-SECTIONS INCLUSIVE OF AN INITIAL INPUT SUB-SECTION WHEREIN WASTE MATERIALS ARE FED IN, INTERMEDIATE CARBONIZING SUB-SECTIONS WHEREIN EACH OF SAID INTERMEDIATE CARBONIZING SUB-SECTIONS IS ASSIGNED TO CONDUCT A PARTICULAR STAGE OF THE OVERALL CARBONIZATION PROCESS ON SAID WASTE MATERIALS AND AN END DISCHARGE SUB-SECTION WHEREIN SAID WASTE MATERIALS, AFTER CARBONIZATION WORKED ON, ARE DISCHARGED FROM SAID APPARATUS. AT LEAST A HEAT SOURCE IS PROVIDED OR ASSIGNED TO EACH OF THE INTERMEDIATE CARBONIZING SUB-SECTIONS FOR CONDUCTION OF THE CARBONIZING PROCESS WITH SAID HEAT SOURCE ABLE TO SET AND MAINTAIN THE TEMPERATURE IN THE ASSIGNED SUB-SECTION AT A DESIRED LEVEL. AN AGITATING MEANS AND A TRANSFER MEANS ARE INCORPORATED IN THE APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUS AGITATION OF THE WASTE MATERIALS WITHIN AND FOR CONTINUOUS TRANSFERRING SAID WASTE MATERIALS FROM THE INLET SUB-SECTION TO THE DISCHARGE SUB-SECTION. MEANS ARE ALSO INCORPORATED IN THE APPARATUS TO MAINTAIN THE OXYGEN AND VAPOR OR GASES, CUMULATED FROM THE CARBONIZATION PROCESS, AT LOW LEVELS.</p> |
