METHOD FOR TRANSFEMORAL BLOCK OF BLADDER NERVES IN SMALL ANIMALS

FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: transfemoral block of bladder nerves in small animals is ensured by injection of 0.5% Novocaine in an amount of 1 ml per 1 kg of live weight or per 2 kg in impaired animals. A syringe needle is inserted at a mid-distance between an ischial tuberosity and a femoral head of the respective side of body perpendicularly to the skin surface of the lateral surface of femur all the way to the body of ischium. Thereafter, the needle is displaced under its ventral border and advanced in the dorsal medial direction towards a body of sacral bone at a depth of haft-width of pelvis.EFFECT: method provides atraumatic and effective block ensured by using accurate anatomic-topographic marks of the needle insertion and advance with maximal manual and visual control of the needle position, direction and penetration, as well as focused action of the bladder nerves.
