1. A method of adding an additive as oxygen scavenger in a plastic material comprising the step of adding the additive to the plastic material, wherein
(a) the plastic material is a polyester, a polyolefin, a polyolefin copolymer or a polystyrene, and the additive is (b) and optionally (c): (b) a compound of formula (I), (1), (2), (5), (8), (9) and/or (10)wherein
each Ra can be the same or different and independently represents a group selected from the group consisting of the moieties of formula (A), (B) and (C),wherein Rb is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 alkoxy and —CO—C1-4 alkyl;
Rc is hydrogen or C1-30 alkyl; Rd is hydrogen or C1-30 alkyl and can be on ortho (o) or meta (m) position to Rc; p is the number 0, 1 or 2; X in formula (8) is selected from the group consisting of C(CH3)2, S═O, C═O and SO2; n is a number of from 1 to 20; (c) a transition metal catalyst. |
