Included are: a hard decision value calculation unit (41) that calculates a hard decision value from the I-ch and Q-ch coordinates of a received symbol having been multi-level-modulated; and a log-likelihood ratio (LLR) calculation unit (42) that approximately calculates an LLR from the I-ch and Q-ch coordinates of the received symbol. If the sign bit of the LLR calculated by the LLR calculation unit (42) is contradictory to the hard decision value calculated by the hard decision value calculation unit (41), then an LLR correction unit (43) reverses the sign bit of the LLR, and outputs the LLR, the sign bit of which has been reversed, as a soft decision value to an error correction decoding unit (32). |
