Provided are: a two-dimensional code which maintains a high security level and a given decoding accuracy even under harsh conditions, and which does not detract from style; and a two-dimensional code system. The two-dimensional code and system, comprise: a delimited area that delimits the area of interest for a two-dimensional code with a continuous frame; a code area part comprising a color code in which cells are arranged so as to be able to decoded into first decoding data, and which is located within the delimited area; and an image display unit which displays an image which can be identified by characteristic value data for performing authentication, and which is located within the delimited area and outside the code region, having colors that allow the background color to be differentiated from the frame. If the color code is converted into a black-and-white gradation image and captured, it is converted into a black-and-white two-gradation binary code, which can be decoded into second decoding data. |
