The invention relates to a method for producing an organic optoelectronic component (10), which method is provided in various exemplary embodiments. In the method, a first electrode (20) is formed. An organic functional layer structure (22) is formed above the first electrode (20). A second electrode (23) is formed above the organic functional layer structure (22). A powder layer structure (40) having at least one powder is formed laterally next to and/or above the organic functional layer structure (22). At least a partial area (54) of the powder layer structure (40) is melted by means of electromagnetic radiation such that the powder layer structure (40) fuses into a solid closed capsule structure (46) at least in the partial area (54).
