摘要 554,388. Wireless receiving circuits. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Feb. 9, 1942, No. 1679. Convention date, Feb. 12, 1941. [Class 40 (v)] A tuned circuit for a radio receiver, in which oscillations are received varying in frequency with variations in tuning of the receiver, has means for providing two voltages which are equal when the frequency of the oscillations equals the frequency to which the circuit is tuned and varying differentially with respect to variations in frequency of the oscillations from the resonance frequency, together with means responsive to the two voltages for producing a resultant voltage having maximum intensity when the two voltages are equal and indicating means responsive to the said resultant voltage. As shown, the last intermediate frequency amplifier 1 of a frequency modulation receiver feeds a discriminator circuit 3 5, 12 of known type including diodes 6, 61 which produce across equal resistances 7, 8 voltages which are equal at the desired frequency and which vary differentially in accordance with deviations from this frequency. The voltages across 7, 8 are fed to the anodes of a pair of diodes 15, 16, the cathodes of which are connected to the junction of 7, 8 by equal resistances 17, 18 and whose anodes are connected by equal resistances 19, 20 the junction consisting either of a voltmeter 22 or a cathode ray tube 23 is connected between 21 and the junction of 17 and 18. According as to which way the frequency deviates one or other of the diodes 15, 16 ceases to conduct and it can be shown that the potential supplied to the indicator is always negative and equal to half the smaller of the voltages across 7 or 8. This becomes a maximum when the voltages are equal, that is when the circuit is tuned to the incoming frequency.
