CBP and p300 are synthetically lethal, and treatment that inhibits p300 can be a promising approach for treating CBP mutation-type cancer. In this treatment strategy, cancer patients can be selected using CBP function suppression as a marker, and then administered a p300 inhibitor, whereby efficient treatment based on companion diagnostics is possible.
