Provided are a channel state information feedback method and apparatus, a user equipment and a base station, wherein the method comprises: synchronizing a basis matrix containing sparsities of a frequency domain and a space domain of CSI with a BS in advance; receiving pilot frequency information sent by the BS; determining, according to the pilot frequency information, a CSI information matrix containing information about the frequency domain and the space domain of the CSI; determining data to be transmitted through the CSI information matrix; and feeding back the data to be transmitted to the BS, so that the BS uses a basis matrix which is synchronized with the UE in advance and contains the sparsities of the frequency domain and the space domain of the CSI to recover corresponding CSI information from the data to be transmitted. The embodiments of the present invention improve CSI feedback efficiency, and reduces feedback overhead from a UE end to a BS end, thereby improving the frequency spectrum utilization rate during wireless communications.
