A light control apparatus that has a substrate, a rotary shaft member comprising an axial magnet, a light adjustment unit that rotates integrally with the rotary shaft member, and an electromagnetic drive source for driving the rotary shaft member using a coil and a coil core comprising a magnetic body, and control apparatus controls light by moving the light adjustment unit to a retracted position and an inserted position, wherein a rotatable range θa is set so as to have a part that overlaps with a range θn that results in a negative direction in the torque acting on the rotary shaft member as a result of magnetic force when the coil is de-energized and/or a range θp that results in a positive direction, and additionally, θa is set so that the range θ1 thereof overlapping with θn and the range θ2 thereof overlapping with θp have different widths. |
