This route search device is provided with: a street information storage unit in which connections of streets are stored by links and nodes, and in which a first cost, associated with each of the links, incurred in passing through the respective link is stored together with the link; and a route search unit for looking up in the information storage unit, to search for a route between two different points. Information pertaining to a prescribed street section constituted by multiple consecutive links, and the cost associated with the street section, is stored in the information storage unit. The cost represents the cost incurred in passage through the street section as whole, and is less than the sum of the first cost of each of the links constituting the street section. In the event that at least a portion of the link sequence of the street section is included in the route, the route search unit performs a search for a route, on the basis of the corresponding cost of the street section.
