Provided is a thin display device with a built-in touch detection function having high detection accuracy. This display device with a built-in touch detection function is characterized by comprising: a plurality of source lines and a plurality of detection lines, which extend in a first direction; a plurality of common lines and a plurality of gate lines, which extend in a second direction different from the first direction; a plurality of pixels to which image signals corresponding to an image to be displayed are supplied from the source lines; a plurality of control devices which supply, to the pixels, voltages that are based on the image signals and the potentials of the common lines; a common line drive circuit which includes a pulse generation unit that generates first pulse signals for sequentially driving the common lines, and which further includes a pulse compensation unit that, on the basis of the first pulse signals and the potentials received from all or some of the common lines, generates second pulse signals for reducing changes in the potentials of the common lines due to the potentials of the source lines and outputs each second pulse signal to a corresponding one of the common lines; and a touch detection unit which detects a pointed-to position in response to each second pulse.
