[Class 41] A rotary tumbler barrel for use in electroplating, e.g. chromium, comprises an inner perforated metal part 12, adapted to contain the articles to be plated and to serve as cathode, and an outer concentric metal part 1 serving as the anode. A second anode 17 may be arranged within the part 12 concentric therewith and may be perforated. Part 1 is mounted between two insulating end discs carrying a divided spindle 4 mounted for rotation and radial conductors 7 form electrical connection between the anode part 1 and a boss on the spindle part in one of the end discs. A series of radial conductors 10 extend from a boss on the spindle part in the other end disc and through slots in the disc, and are secured in the first end plate 1 and form electrical connection to spacing bars for supporting the inner part 12. A gap, closed by a gauze cover 13, is left in the inner part 12, the cover being supported by bars 14 with cranked ends. Part 1 terminates at points 5, 6 leaving a gap for the insertion of articles into the part 12.
