In embodiments, one or more targets may be permanently or removably affixed to one or more components of a mechanical system. A computer guided tuning system may be used to identify the pose, position, or orientation of one or more elements of the mechanical system. The computer guided tuning system may then be able to provide feedback to a user to adjust the mechanical system.

1. One or more non-transitory computer-readable media comprising instructions to cause a computing device, upon execution of the instructions by one or more processors of the computing device, to:
capture, by a camera of the computing device, an image of a mechanical system; detect one or more targets in the image, the targets coupled with the mechanical system and respective targets having a plurality of fiducial markers; estimate a respective pose of the one or more targets in the image based on the fiducial markers; infer, based at least in part on the respective estimated pose of the one or more targets, a state of the mechanical system; generate, based at least in part on the state, an event; and process the event.
