A jug for the preparation of beverages is provided. The jug (1) comprises a body (5) with at least a first receptacle (23) and a second receptacle (25) for receiving ingredients for the preparation of beverages. A first stirrer (17) can be arranged in the first receptacle (23). In some embodiments, a second stirrer (19) can be arranged in the second receptacle (25). The jug also comprises a cover closing the body of the jug. A first fluid connection (51) is arranged for receiving a beverage from a beverage producing machine and collecting the beverage in the first receptacle (23). A second fluid connection (77) to a beverage producing machine is further provided, in fluid communication with the second receptacle (25).
