This supercharger is an electrically assisted supercharger in which an electric motor (30) is attached to a silencer (26)-side end part of a rotor shaft (15) connected to a compressor section, wherein the supercharger is provided with an intake air inlet path (24) formed in the silencer (26) so that a primary flow of intake air flows from the radial direction of the silencer (26) toward a connecting section connecting the silencer (26) and the compressor section, and a cooling air intake channel (40) of which at least the outlet is provided along the axial center line of the rotor shaft (15) in the silencer (26).
