AIR DIFFUSER AND AIR DIFFUSION METHOD

Provided are an air diffuser that can generate a large volume of micro-bubbles and has little increase in pressure loss even if the amount of air passing through is large, and an air diffusion method using this air diffuser. The air diffuser is a tube type membrane diffuser having tube base material and an elastic membrane that covers the tube base material and that has formed therein a large number of slits for generating micro-bubbles, wherein 200,000 - 600,000 slits, each having a length of 0.5 mm or less, are provided per square meter of membrane surface. The air diffusion method allows passage of air in a unit membrane surface area air volume of 15 Nm3/m2/hr for this air diffuser.
