摘要 Embodiments of the invention provide dynamically adaptive e-learning courses built on integrated datagraph macrostructures and microstructures. For example, an e-learning course includes a number of knowledge entities, each having one or more lesson and practice components. The knowledge entities can be instantiated as nodes of a course datagraph macrostructure, linked together via edges having edge attributes that can define a course flow relationship among the knowledge entities. Each node in the datagraph macrostructure can include its own set of datagraph microstructures. For example, each knowledge entity can include lesson and/or practice datagraph microstructures that include numbers of respective step objects (e.g., lesson step objects and/or practice step objects), each associated with defined responses, and each linked (e.g., via one or more of the responses) with one or more other respective step objects via edges, thereby defining lesson and practice flow relationships among the respective step objects according to attributes of the defined responses.

A system for building an c-learning datagraph structure, the system comprising: a non-transient course data store that stores a course datagraph macrostructure; a set of processors in communication with the course data store that implements a course authoring platform to receive authoring commands, translate the authoring commands to executable datagraph commands, and execute the datagraph commands with the set of processors to: instantiate a plurality of knowledge entities as nodes of the course datagraph macrostructure in the course data store;link each knowledge entity with at least one other knowledge entity in the course datagraph macrostructure by instantiating a respective knowledge edge having a respective set of knowledge edge attributes that defines a course flow relationship between the knowledge entities; andembed at least one of the knowledge entities in the course datagraph macrostructure with at least one lesson datagraph microstructure in the course data store by instantiating a plurality of lesson step objects as nodes of the lesson datagraph microstructure, defining a set of lesson responses associated with each lesson step object, and linking each lesson step object with at least one other lesson step object in the lesson datagraph microstructure by instantiating a respective lesson edge that defines a lesson flow relationship between the lesson step objects.
