This invention provides a secondary-battery system in which the SOC of a battery can be obtained with a simple computation and without obtaining battery characteristics. This secondary-battery system is characterized by: determining an initial SOC value from a CCV obtained during a charging period; obtaining momentary SOCs (charging SOCs) by adding, to said initial SOC value, values obtained by integrating charging or discharging currents; determining an initial SOC value from a CCV obtained during a discharging period; obtaining momentary SOCs (discharging SOCs) by adding, to said initial SOC value, values obtained by integrating charging or discharging currents; and averaging the charging SOCs and the discharging SOCs to obtain SOCs that are close to the true values. |
